The GlobeRiders World Tour is being offered for its seventh iteration! We believe GlobeRiders is unique in offering a tour of this length and duration, journeying east to west across the vast Eurasian continent. Beginning in Tokyo, this adventure travels through Japan for 10 days, ferry to Vladivostok, Russia, a little sidetrip to dip your feet in Lake Baikal before entering the land of Mongolia.

Entering Russia once again to visit the Altai mountains as we exit Mongolia in the far west of that country. We bid farwell to mother Russia and enter the vast land of Kazakstan, time for tire change. Before bording the ship across the Caspian Sea we will have visited a couple of more -stan countries: Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Azerbaijan greets us in Baku before we climb the big hill to the Caucasus mountains and Georgia. we are now on the home stretch when we ride over the border to Turkey. Not to fast though as we enjoy Istanbul, borderland between Asia and Europe.

Wherever this journey takes us we will stop and taste the local culture, meet wonderful people and hopefully get a better understanding for the lands we are Making Tracks through.

The final destination is München, Germany.

And, if 73 days and 16 countries isn't enough for you, we are pleased to offer a post-tour add-on for those who really want to make their ride a grand adventure.

Highlights of the tour will include

  • Containerized shipment of your motorcycle one-way from Seattle, WA to Tokyo, Japan

  • Cultural and historic tours in major cities throughout the tour.

  • We will start the tour in Tokyo where we will be introduced to the culture and customs of Japan, such a fascinating country to ride your bike. Consider this visit a teaser and hopefully one day you can come back for a longer visit.

  • Highlights from our visit in Japn will be Kyoto and Hiroshima

  • From Japan we will take a ferry to Vladivostok, Russia. Here our real adventure starts as we ride north to Khabarovsk. We are now in the Far east Asia, Siberia and the Taiga.

  • A special full-day tour in Ulan Ude, to include a visit and "home-stay dinner" with the Old Ritualist's (also known as the Old Believers)

  • A day visit and boat ride on Lake Baikal, which contains one-fifth of the world’s fresh water!

  • Mongolia will be a special treat on this journey. We will have the chance to live the nomadic life sleeping in Yurts while learning about the nomadic life of the ancestors of Ghenges Kan.

  • High on my own bucket list has always been the Altai mountain region in far west corner of Mongolia stretching in to Russia.
  • The endless roads of Kazkstan will test our endurance with a few surprises mixed in to the long riding days.
  • After visits to wonderful cities like Samarkand and Bukhara in Uzbekistan, we will cross the Caspian Sea by ship.
  • Already in Baku and Tibilisi you can sense that we are getting closer to Europe, but it is not before we take a rest in Istanbul, Turkey that we officially enter Europe, according to our guide in Turkey.
  • We are now on the home stretch of this long journey from Tokyo.
  • Visit to the BMW Corporate Headquarters and remodeled Museum in Munich, Germany.
As a post ride we hope you will join us as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of BMW Motorrad Days and 40 years with the boxer GS.

Although the World Tour is now being offered for the seventh time, the 2020 Tour will not be a simple cookie-cutter of previous tours. Each tour is unique, with changes and revisions being made from year to year.

To participate in the tour, you must be both experienced and comfortable riding in crowded urban traffic, and on relatively long distances on roads with varying surface conditions on a fully loaded motorcycle. You should own a rough-terrain capable "dual-purpose" type motorcycle, with sturdy, lockable panniers or saddlebags, and an approved handlebar-mounted portable Garmin GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver. Your bike must be equipped with spoked wheels.

The tour package fee DOES include: one-way containerized shipment of your motorcycle from our home port of Seattle, Washington, USA to Tokyo, Japan, Ferry crossing from Japan to Russia and ferry crossing of the Caspian Sea, all accommodations, most dinners, all breakfasts, some lunches, fees for guides, drivers and lead or chase vehicles as required by local authorities all the way to München, bus transportation on sightseeing days, most en route museum or planned group activity charges, and the services of the Globeriders staff guides.

The tour package DOES NOT include: visa processing fees, motorcycle or shipping insurance, your airfare or transportation to Tokyo, Japan, return airfare or transportation from Munich, Germany, transportation of your motorcycle to our home port of Seattle, Washington, USA, transportation of your motorcycle from Münich, Germany (see note below), or personal daily expenses such as fuel, consumables, lunch, or tips for local guides and drivers.

NOTE REGARDING RETURN MOTORCYCLE SHIPMENT: Many riders chose to extend their adventure after the tour’s official end in Münich. Since their bikes are already in Europe, the European, East European and Nordic countries are within easy reach. For this reason, only containerized shipment of your motorcycle from Seattle to Tokyo is included in the tour package fee. This allows each rider to arrange his or her own transportation back home on a schedule best suited to their needs. Alternatively, some riders chose to leave a bike in Europe for another vacation at a later date. The storage costs are surprisingly low. We can recommend trusted partners who can arrange for either motorcycle shipment or storage. No worries, we will help you with whatever way you plan to end this journey.
