Africa Adventure 2005 Live!Journal

Welcome to the home page of the GlobeRiders Africa Adventure 2005 Live!Journal. The Africa Adventure begins 04 OCT 2005 and ends 09 NOV 2005 in Cape Town, South Africa, making a counter-clockwise loop through the countries of South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia.  Three special highlights of the tour are a layover in Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls), a 4-day safari into the Okavango Delta via bush aircraft, and a full day for exploration of the Namib Dunes area, the largest sand dunes in the world.

The total driving distance will be approximately 7,755 kilometers (4,847 miles), spanning 36 days. The shortest driving day will be around 120 kilometers (75 miles) and the longest 620 kilometers (388 miles).  Overall, the average daily distance works out to 350 kilometers (220 miles) for the 22 actual road days.
